Meet the Team
Alan Ferrin
Alan has over 40 years of experience in process controls engineering and automation, machine design and development, systems integration, and machine repair and maintenance. Alan earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. A former plant engineer, Alan has years of experience managing wholesale baking manufacturing facilities, giving him a unique perspective on problem-solving.
An engineer through and through, even outside of work, Alan enjoys making things work better. He enjoys spending time with his family and is an accomplished piano player. Alan often showcases his skills at the church he attends!
Currently serving as Chief Technology Officer for Cornerstone Automation, Nathan is a Navy Veteran who has 20+ years of experience in the electronics and computer field. He earned his B.S. in Electronics Engineering Technology from ECPI University. He specializes in real-time communication networks and is no stranger to either a PLC or an office server.
In his “spare time,” Nathan enjoys home automation projects, house renovations, and spending time with his wife and four children.
With over 6 years of experience in information technologies and electrical work, as Chief Operations Officer, Tim is an expert problem solver and is knowledgeable about both operational technology and mechanical processes.
Tim graduated from Eastern University with a B.S. in Music Education. He enjoys playing classical guitar.
Valerie has been the Office Manager at Cornerstone Automation since the beginning. She has more than 40 years of experience in bookkeeping and administration and earned her A.S. in Accounting at Montgomery County Community College. Valerie handles all financial matters including AP, AR, and payroll in addition to overseeing all administrative functions in the office.
When Valerie is not at the office, she enjoys home renovation projects and spending time with her family. In the summer you will often find her in her gardens.
Tim Murphy is a Controls Specialist at Cornerstone Automation. Tim has been passionate about mechanical and electrical systems since childhood, starting with building devices from Lego and spare electronics. This early interest led him to pursue engineering courses in high school and, after graduation, a career in the Navy as a technician for shipboard weapon systems. During his service, Tim gained extensive experience with the Phalanx Close-In Weapon System (CIWS), an advanced electromechanical system. His work with CIWS solidified his love for intricate systems and complex technologies.
Jordan earned a B.A. in Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology from Pennsylvania State University and has several years of experience working in the industrial automation field. Jordan is a Controls Engineer at Cornerstone Automation. He is experienced in mechanical design, developing real-time software, and controlling systems with microcontrollers contributing to Jordan’s impressive engineering abilities and troubleshooting skills.
Jordan loved working with K’nex as a kid; he even won a few competitions. His first job was working at a car wash and he later created a working scale model of the car wash out of LEGOs and K’nex. Jordan uses his technical skills by running the sound board for his church.
