The quarry needed to add multiple conveyors and screeners to its operation.
Our team utilized multiple licenses of AVEVA InTouch in the supervisory control towers. We upgraded the HMI, installed new PLC hardware, and performed termination to new IO, devices, and inverters. We also digitally integrated a scale, supplied additional programming, and provided new documentation.
A paint line oven had obsolete and non-functioning temperature and combustion controls requiring lighting by hand. Any modification to this system required repair and update of gas controls and flame supervision to meet current safety requirements (NFPA 86). The customer also desired automatic ignition and upgrade of obsolete motor control.
In conjunction with an energy contractor (gas train and components) and EC we provided a complete system with all new controls. Our team built a new 2-door cabinet with new burner management, and motor controls. We also provided and integrated all new field device and gas controls. The supervisory PLC monitored burner management, and the Rockwell PLC communicated with the Honeywell flame supervisor via Modbus gateway. A new PanelView Plus served as an interface with the process. We improved interlocks to upstream, downstream, and the thermal oxidizer. We provided new drawings and documentation, as well as start up and commissioning. For this solution, CompactLogix PLC was used, as well as Honeywell burner supervision which communicated digitally with the PLC.
